One more post from the archives on this #TolkienThursday. Tonight, we’re having a look at the ToyBiz Lord of the Rings Electronic Sauron!
This 12″ figure was initially released in The Two Towers packaging, featuring a soft-goods cape, red light-up eyes, and four lines of sinister dialogue from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He was later repacked in blue Return of the King packaging (and in a UK-exclusive ‘Lords of Darkness’ 2-pack with Saruman). ToyBiz brought Sauron back one more time for a Battle of the Last Alliance, The Defeat of Sauron gift pack with Gil-Galad and King Elendil.
The sculpt remains impressive 20 years later and holds its own against 1/12-scale figures. The voice is incredible after a quick battery change. Fun figure!
