Recommended music: Frikiverso – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Opening Theme
It’s #TurtleTuesday, and today from the archives we’ve got this NECA Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles April O’Neil!
This figure shows April as she appeared during the opening intro of the first seven seasons of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series. I’m not sure why she’s driving the turtle van, but I am sure she’s the only licensed driver in the group.
This first cartoon version of April O’Neil came in a 2-pack with a bashed foot soldier and plenty of series-inspired accessories. She comes with a camcorder, a microphone tape recorder, and a Turtlecom, just like in the show. There are also episode-specific extras, like the Baby Pizza Monster from Season 2, Episode 6, “Case of the Killer Pizzas,” and the Maltese Hamster statue from Season 3, Episode 4, “The Maltese Hamster.” The figure is a bit short, but it’s a great likeness of the character.
