Recommended music: Garo – Live With April O’Neal
Finally, on this #TurtleTuesday, we’ve got another NECA Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles April O’Neil!
This version of April O’Neil is modeled on her appearance in the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action film, as portrayed by Judith Hoag. As the month of April winds down, I figured it would be a great time to share a photo of the Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter with her custom raincoat and VW van. The NECA figure does a great job of matching her costume from the first half of the film, but the raincoat is only included with the deluxe autographed exclusive. I just wanted the basic figure, but I still wanted to show scenes with this look, so I decided to get a custom accessory made.
Since NECA likely won’t produce larger vehicles for their movie figures, I decided to make a larger VW Bus like the one in the film. It actually started as a toy for little bunnies, but I’m pleased with how it turned out as April’s rusty van from the movie.
