Adding to the awesome on this #FourHorsemenFriday, we’ve got the Mythic Legions Adamonn!
According to his official Mythic Legions bio, Adamonn hails from the House of the Noble Bear and is a coliseum champion. However, like all tribute figures, that backstory is certainly “unofficial” canon. In my head canon, I believe this guy hails from the House of Randor and is the most powerful man in the universe to the people of Eternia.
Adamonn was included in the Coliseum wave of Mythic Legions. Like Unkann, he made his debut at Power-Con the year before the general release for those of us lucky enough to attend. As the Four Horsemen’s next “unofficial” tribute figure to Masters of the Universe, this is clearly He-Man, and the name is pulled from He-Man’s true identity of Prince Adam.
I love the look of this figure as I pictured this to be He-Man as he looked after having to leave Eternia for some reason (think New Adventures of He-Man, or the 1987 live-action movie). While there is an alternate helmeted head included, this repaint of the Attlus head from the first wave of Mythic Legions is perfect . No longer does Eternia’s champion bear a clean-shaven look; this aged version comes with his hair pulled back, braids, and a heavy beard. The straps resemble He-Man’s typical chest harness, and the wooden shield, which was previously only available in a weapon’s pack, has been repainted to give nostalgia vibes of the vintage Masters of the Universe toy line as well.
