Going places this #SomethingElseSunday from the archives, we’re taking a ride with the Mattel “Matty Collector” Zombie Taxi Driver Ghost!
In the first Ghostbusters film, The Driver is freed from the Containment Unit when Walter Peck shuts down the protection grid. He is later seen entering a New York City taxi cab via the tailpipe. His scene was cut down for the theatrical release, as there is deleted footage of the taxi’s crazy driving, which caused additional cars to crash.
The figure looks great, cast in translucent plastic with good detail on the head and hands. He is only seen from the torso up in the film because he is behind the steering wheel. I prefer this version to the full-bodied Diamond Select Toys version of the character.
Last year marked the 4oth anniversary of the original Ghostbusters film first hitting theaters, and 35 years of Ghostbusters II. ️
