This #SomethingElseSunday from the archives, we’re taking a look at another Mattel “Matty Collector” Ghostbusters Slimer!
In the first Ghostbusters film, Slimer is the first ghost the team tracks down. They capture him using their proton packs and Ghost Trap.
This figure design features translucent plastic and gives “the Mean Green Ghost” a screaming face, as if he’s roaring down a hallway or being sucked into the Ghost Trap. Slimer was included with the very first figure in the line, Egon Spengler, who was initially supposed to be Peter Venkman. The Ghost Trap was included with the first Winston figure a few months later.
Last year marked the 4oth anniversary of the original Ghostbusters film first hitting theaters, and 35 years of Ghostbusters II. ️
