And this #TolkienThursday from the archives, we’re talking about the ToyBiz Lord of the Rings – Fellowship of the Ring Arwen!
This version of Arwen with a wounded Frodo and her steed Asfaloth is from her Fellowship of the Ring horse and rider set. Besides the initial green packaging, the set was rereleased in a red box for The Two Towers line and later in a blue box to blend in with new figures for the Return of the King line. As a collector of the line, it seemed like this set was always available, and Arwen was always ready to take on some Nazgûl.
This is a great figure of the “faster rider.” Like the similar black rider figures, this version of the character was also designed with rubbery legs. It includes soft goods so she can better stay on her horse. Unique to this Arwen is a light-up Evenstar necklace, though mine is likely due for a battery change after 20+ years.😄
