On this #SomethingElseSunday from the archives, we’re looking at the Mattel “Matty Collector” Ghostbusters “Marshmallow Mess” Ray Stantz figure with Ghostbusters Logo Base!
This version of Ray was the only “Club Ecto-1 exclusive” from the line, which meant that if you signed up for all of the GB releases for the year, you also got this version of Ray with a bit of marshmallow added. I really wish Mattel had gone further and sculpted a lot of marshmallow sludge on the figure. Venkman was actually the only one of the ‘Busters to escape getting completely doused with marshmallow in the film. Maybe this figure should have been Peter if Mattel was gonna go lazy with the release…
The logo base has a marshmallow mess deco, which is a neat addition. However, it’s not the best accessory included with this figure. This was the first movie Ray figure to finally include his walkie-talkie and Ecto goggles.
