Okeaetos

Recommended music: No Doubt – Spiderwebs

Okay, #FourHorsemenFriday has arrived, and today we’re taking a look at the Mythic Legions Okeaetos!

Okeaetos’s official Mythic Legions bio shows that he is an Arakkighast assassin. While this bony race is not often seen in Mythoss, it is no less creepy. If Okeaetos’s appearance looks somewhat familiar to you, you may have figured out that he is a tribute to the “Evil master of escape” Webstor! This big blue spider guy is the Four Horsemen’s “unofficial” nod to Webstor and part of their ongoing line of Masters of the Universe tribute figures.

The figure, along with Zenithon, was included in the Mythic Legions: All-Stars wave 5, with both making their debut at the Power-Con toy show in 2022.

I believe that Arakkighast must be based on “arachnid,” but Okeaetos’ name may be based on “Oikeetos.” The Greek word Oikeetos means “servant” or “he who dwells in a house.” This may imply a servant or dwelling in dark places like a spider.

His main head is a repainted version of a vampire head with some spidery details. He also comes with the helmet head from a Vampire Legion Builder, which I’ll likely never use since I don’t collect any of the vampire figures. For accessories, he comes with a bone knife and a mace that is connected to the handle by a long string. He also has a removable backpack attachment with extra arms connected to give you more of an arachnid look to the figure. All-in-all, he’s a decent figure that could also be used as the base for a dark blue skeleton custom 😉 and is also a fun take on the MOTU character from the 1980s.
