We’re coming to you from the West Coast this #StarWarsSaturday, and we’re still in Echo Base during The Empire Strikes Back. From The Legacy Collection, it’s Wes Janson!
As Rebel pilots and gunners scramble to their ships and other troopers head to their battle stations ahead of the impending ground assault, the shield is opened to launch a pair of ships and fire the ion cannon. The cannon fires two energy beams and strikes an Imperial Star Destroyer when a voice comes over the loudspeaker.
“The first transport is away.”
All the characters on screen cheer at the announcement, and I have to imagine Wes Janson just off-screen being a part of this brief celebration. Janson is best known for being Wedge Antilles’ snowspeeder gunner when he toppled an AT-AT walker with a skillful harpoon maneuver.
“Good shot, Janson.”
This one and only Hasbro Wes Janson figure was included in the Rebel Pilot Legacy 3-Pack along with Dorovio Bold and Ten Numb.
This release is excellent with 14 points of articulation, so the figure can easily fit in a snowspeeder. The paint apps are also great, with details on the chest box and Janson’s specific helmet.
The Empire Strikes Back turned 45 years old this year! I “figure” there’ll be a new Episode V figure to share here for the rest of the year. Happy 45 years of ESB!
