Continuing the countdown of my top 10 action figure releases of 2025, for number 5, I chose the Harvinger Studios Savage Crucible Warrior with Ball & Chain!
This year, I am highlighting a different toy company each day in my top ten list. At the beginning of 2025, I did not anticipate including any products from Harvinger Studios in my collection, let alone in my top ten. The initial Kickstarter campaign for the first wave of Savage Crucible figures featured lizard-like characters that did not appeal to me. However, the subsequent wave introduced rugged human warriors, and in particular, this figure, reminiscent of Conan the Barbarian, convinced me to make a purchase.
Inspired by the artwork of Frank Frazetta, this figure is highly detailed and fully articulated, allowing for a wide range of poses. Upon unboxing, it felt as though I was holding a three-dimensional representation of the original artwork. The figure includes a ball and chain, a dagger with scabbard, three pairs of interchangeable hands, a shield, a soft-goods cape, a sword with scabbard, and an art card. Although I would have preferred an alternate head with this release, I’ll discuss that aspect further in an upcoming, more comprehensive review.
