Battle Action Aragorn

Recommended music: AC/DC – Back In Black

We’re back with our first #TolkienThursday post of 2026! Since we’re still exploring The Two Towers, let’s take a look at the ToyBiz Lord of the Rings Battle Action Aragorn!

In the film, after Aragorn falls off a cliff during a Warg attack, Brego finds him, lies down so Aragorn can get on, and then carries him to Helm’s Deep, where he surprises his distraught companions with his return. In the battle to save Rohan at Helm’s Deep, Aragorn shows he’s the leader he was always meant to be by fighting bravely and defending the Keep with his sword. His passion, courage, and wisdom earn him the respect of King Theoden and the Rohirrim.

I just realized I skipped ahead in the movie and missed three other Aragorn figures from The Two Towers. The Battle Action Aragorn, featuring ‘Sword Attack Action,’ was released in the fifth and final wave of TTT figures. This action feature was used less frequently than the others in the series. Rather than a button on the back, squeezing the figure’s legs causes the waist to turn and the arm to lower for the sword attack.

Along with his sword Anduril, this version includes a small knife that fits into a slot on the scabbard. Unfortunately, it is not the same design as the Elven hunting dagger Aragorn got from Lord Celeborn in Lothlórien, which you can see when he is sparring with Éowyn in Edoras and later during the battle of Helm’s Deep.

This figure doesn’t look as much like Viggo Mortensen as some of the other paint jobs in the line. Aside from the sword being attached to the front of his waist instead of at the side, the sculpt and details match the costume well.
