It’s #SomethingElseSunday, and we’re back with another Masters of the Universe collaboration with Eternian Epic Imagery. Our theme this week is “Snake Men on Etheria.”
Although King Hiss and the Snake Men faction of Masters of the Universe were in development at Mattel as early as 1985, the general toy-buying public did not become aware of this new group of characters until late 1986 or even 1987. As a result, the final season of the Filmation She-Ra: Princess of Power animated series was already in production, featuring the Evil Horde and Hordak as the primary antagonists.
For my “Snake Men on Etheria” concept, I explored how King Hiss (represented by my custom Masters of the Universe comic strip figure) might have led an invasion of this vibrant world. The group contributed additional creative ideas and photographs, which are included below.

“Snake Men on Etheria”
The Snake Men have always been the third evil faction in the world of MOTU, appearing in some canon during a time similar to the Horde’s invasion of Eternia, but their history also dates back to Preternia.
The 200X series shows the Snake Men at their best. Still, as fans know, some Snake Men have defected to Skeletor’s Evil Warriors or even the Evil Horde.
Now with the influx of characters in this line, King Hiss wants to take his armada to other worlds to increase their tyranny…
