Happy Monday! For our last #MastersMonday in February, let’s check out one more vintage Masters of the Universe game or fun novelty item. Today, we’re moving along to 1984 and highlighting the Golden Masters of the Universe Jigsaw Puzzle: Fearless Foes!
Now, I know Nathan Bitner created the original artwork for the Masters of the Universe character Fearless Photog [we’ll get to his story someday], but I’m not quite certain who made this artwork for “Fearless Foes.” This puzzle probably came out in late 1984, since it features Fisto and Stridor, who appeared in stores that summer, along with the Battle Armor versions of He-Man and Skeletor, who showed up earlier that year. Man-E-Faces is also here, using his “monster face,” which helped to make him a standout character the year before.
This Golden puzzle was more typical of a 100-piece set, and measured 14 by 18 inches, all for just $1.47 at Toys “R” Us. 😄 I’ll make sure to cover more puzzles and other “pieces” like this from the collection next February. Fun stuff!
