Marshal Moo Montana

Howdy toy fans! For this #WhateverWednesday, let’s take a look at the Nacelle Toys C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa Marshal Moo Montana!

Marshal Moo Montana is the cornerstone of the 1992 animated series Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa. As the leader of the C.O.W.-Boys, he acts as the moral compass of the lawless frontier. He stands for the “Code of the West,” teaching younger audiences about justice, integrity, and bravery. While the show’s acronym, C.O.W., literally stands for “Code of the West,” there is a funny secret about it: Moo Montana often made up the rules as he went along. He remains a nostalgic icon of the 90s “anthropomorphic animal” trend, blending classic Western tropes with creative, bovine-themed world-building.

Not only was the Marshal the main character in the cartoon, but he was also the main playable character in the 1992 Konami arcade game. While the property pretty much disappeared following the show’s 1994 cancellation, with the sale of ABC to Disney. The series was then broadcast on Toon Disney from 1998 to 2001. Fortunately, the Nacelle Company bought the rights to the series in 2023. They have already put out a comic book and the first set of action figures featuring Moo, with plans for a new animated series next year.

The action figure comes in bright packaging, has a detailed paint job, and more than 20 points of articulation. It includes an extra head with a closed-mouth look, two extra sets of hands, his cowboy hat, and fun accessories like handcuffs, a harmonica, two revolvers with badge-shooting effects, a rifle, and a tall mug of sarsaparilla. Overall, it’s a great figure and a fun tribute to early 90s animation.
