For this #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, we’re taking a look at the Mythic Legions Vorgus Vermillius!
I think this character’s backstory was supposed to be a vampire who got tired of having eternal life or something, but his story was never that appealing to me. Besides the orcs of the first wave of Mythic Legions, it was this figure’s “Blood Armor” that made him a must-buy for the collection.
The fun part about his armor, color scheme, and other details was that his whole look was determined by fan voting on The Four Horsemen website and campaigning on the forums way back in the day to form this “Fantastic Exclusive.”
Looking ahead, this #FourHorsemenFriday, and taking a look at the Mythic Legions Lord Bushotee the Alpha!
Lord Bushotee’s official Mythic Legions bio states that he is a true warrior as well as Lord and Commander of the “Furious Four.”
Four Horsemen Studios named the entire group of the Furious Four after the team on the ‘My Wife is Going to Kill Me’ podcast. Bushotee specifically is named after podcaster Steve Biesiada.
This group of figures was first available in a two-pack at LegionsCon 2022. In February 2023, they came back out as two single-carded releases from The Four Horsemen site with the extra heads and accessories needed to make each character. Bushotee came with the gladiator helmet head, seen here, as well as a “Pelvicus” red skull head.
For accessories, he comes with a very standard shield, spear, and sword. I do like the inclusion of the red belt and soft goods cape. The detail on the helmet and the pop of the shiny shoulder pads really helped sell this figure to me, as I’ve previously passed on most of the arena-themed releases. I also appreciate the potential of this quartet to just be generic army builders for your legions.
For this #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, we’re hanging with the OG minotaur, it’s the Mythic Legions Torrion!
While this shadow minotaur figure may look like a “beefy” warrior, he’s actually supposed to be a mage that hangs out with other dark magic users. No bull! Where’s the beef, you ask? Right here. I could do this all day.😄
Okay, #FourHorsemenFriday has arrived, and today we’re taking a look at the Mythic Legions Okeaetos!
Okeaetos’s official Mythic Legions bio shows that he is an Arakkighast assassin. While this bony race is not often seen in Mythoss, it is no less creepy. If Okeaetos’s appearance looks somewhat familiar to you, you may have figured out that he is a tribute to the “Evil master of escape” Webstor! This big blue spider guy is the Four Horsemen’s “unofficial” nod to Webstor and part of their ongoing line of Masters of the Universe tribute figures.
The figure, along with Zenithon, was included in the Mythic Legions: All-Stars wave 5, with both making their debut at the Power-Con toy show in 2022.
I believe that Arakkighast must be based on “arachnid,” but Okeaetos’ name may be based on “Oikeetos.” The Greek word Oikeetos means “servant” or “he who dwells in a house.” This may imply a servant or dwelling in dark places like a spider.
His main head is a repainted version of a vampire head with some spidery details. He also comes with the helmet head from a Vampire Legion Builder, which I’ll likely never use since I don’t collect any of the vampire figures. For accessories, he comes with a bone knife and a mace that is connected to the handle by a long string. He also has a removable backpack attachment with extra arms connected to give you more of an arachnid look to the figure. All-in-all, he’s a decent figure that could also be used as the base for a dark blue skeleton custom 😉 and is also a fun take on the MOTU character from the 1980s.

For this #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, let’s go to the beginning of the alphabet with the Mythic Legions Azhar!
This sorcerer demon figure was also part of the first wave of Mythic Legions, which I initially passed on, but his unique design also got me to pick him up before too long. This guy may also enlist figures from other toy lines for evil deeds. 😜
Zipping into the weekend this #FourHorsemenFriday, let’s have a look at the Mythic Legions Zenithon!
Zenithon’s official Mythic Legions bio shows that he is an Oraphim messenger. Traditionally, in both Jewish and Christian mythology, oraphim refers to a class of celestial beings. Often depicted as beings of light or wheels with eyes, they are sometimes identified as angels. If Zenithon’s appearance even looks slightly familiar, you may have figured out he is a tribute to the “Winged Warrior” Stratos! He is the Four Horsemen’s “unofficial” nod to Stratos and part of their ongoing line of Masters of the Universe tribute figures.
The figure, along with Okeatos, was included in the Mythic Legions: All-Stars wave 5. These two, however, made their debut at the new look Power-Con convention in 2022.
Zenithon’s name appears to be based on “zenith,” a term meaning the highest point, a culmination of power or success, or the point directly above an observer in the celestial sphere. Ethon is derived from the word “ethos,” meaning character or moral nature. I’m not sure if that part was intentional or just sounded cool.
His main head is a repainted version of a bearded orc-style head. He also comes with the helmet head from an armored dwarf Legion Builder repainted to better fit the character. For accessories, he comes with two staffs, shoulder pauldrons, helmet horns, wings, and four swappable hands. The large, bold red wings really help the appearance of this guy. While not my favorite MOTU character, he certainly is a great tribute.

For this #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, let’s go to the end of the alphabet with the Mythic Legions Zazhar!
This demon king figure was a part of the first wave of Mythic Legions. I initially passed on it. However, his unique design eventually got me to bite. Once a powerful sorcerer in the official ML canon, my Zazhar now recruits figures from multiple toy lines to commit evil deeds around the toy room.

Methinks, this is the 500th post on dalestoys.com, so this #FourHorsemenFriday, let’s have a look at the Mythic Legions Mephitor!
Mephitor’s official Mythic Legions bio shows that he is an outcast spy and a goblin from the Swale region. Bordering on a fart joke, it also mentions how he can spray toxic gas at his enemies. I suppose that aligns with Bryophytus’s story from last week, as these two have frequently appeared together in stories for 40 years. If his appearance and abilities seem familiar, you may have figured out he is a tribute to Stinkor: “Evil Master of Odors”!
The figure, along with Bryophytus, was included in the Mythic Legions: All-Stars wave 4. These two, however, made their debut at the final Power-Con in Anaheim in 2021. Mephitor is the Four Horsemen’s “unofficial” nod to Stinkor and part of their ongoing line of Masters of the Universe tribute figures.
Mephitor’s name appears to be based on “mephitis,” a Latin term meaning a noxious or foul-smelling gas or vapor. Also, Mephitis mephitis is the creature commonly known as a striped skunk. 😄
His main head is a repainted version of the Thistlethorn head, repainted in a skunk-like design. He also comes with the head from the Goblin Legion Builder repainted in a solid black, which can just be a neat addition to your goblin legions. For accessories, he comes with a crossbow, shield, and sword – all in a dark blue color scheme that calls back to the shield from the vintage Stinkor action figure. Based on a goblin body, Mephitor does look a little short in your display, and he’s missing Stinkor’s signature patchouli scent, but he’s still an excellent homage to the original MOTU character.

Going on to our next #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, we’ve got the Mythic Legions Gold Knight!
The Gold Knight is one of the original Legion Builders released in the line. I thought this generic-looking knight would be an ideal candidate for painting in the details for a custom paint job, but nearly a decade later, I still haven’t marked up his golden armor and accessories. 🤪 I did swap out the blue plume for this red one, as it is a better match for this Lord of the Rings cape, and I thought red was more complementary of the gold armor.👍

Before heading into the weekend, this #FourHorsemenFriday, let’s take a look at the Mythic Legions Bryophytus!
The official word on Bryophytus from his Mythic Legions bio states that he is a Lichen Orc and a protector of a mysterious region called the Swale. He can also absorb and redirect the power of the plant life around him, but I’m not really sure what good that power is. 😄If his appearance and abilities sound familiar, you may have figured out he is a tribute to Moss Man: Heroic spy & master of camouflage!
The figure, along with Mephitor, was included in the Mythic Legions: All-Stars wave 4 and made their debut at the final Power-Con in Anaheim in 2021. Bryophytus is the Four Horsemen’s “unofficial” nod to Moss Man and part of their ongoing line of Masters of the Universe tribute figures.
The name appears to be based on Bryophytes, which are plants that lack the specialized tissues found in vascular plants, which are used for transporting water and nutrients. This group of plants includes hornworts, liverworts, and most notably, mosses.
He comes with the standard orc-based head, as well as the head originally used for the bearded orc, Vorthogg. For accessories, he comes with a dagger, a dwarf mace, a knife with a sheath, and a magic staff with an orb topper. The accessories and optional shoulder armor are painted in a natural wooden brown color. The body is flocked in a unique moss-like covering to really make him represent the vintage Masters of the Universe Moss Man action figure. While I’ve seen some collectors remove the flocking to just get an olive-green orc, I’ve gotten quite used to the fuzziness of this character over the past 40 years! 😜

By the way, for our next #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, we’re taking a look at the Mythic Legions Balius!
I was so excited for horses to finally be added to the Mythic Legions toy line after four years (and then being delivered two years later). This meant I would have some slightly larger rides in the collection for my Legions instead of just using the long-term placeholder of horses from either the ToyBiz Lord of the Rings line and other horses from McFarlane Toys Spawn line.
The final product is greatly detailed, so the Gold Knight seen here can look more impressive on horseback.👍
Dragging on this #FourHorsemenFriday, let’s take a look at the Mythic Legions Lord Draguul!
Draguul’s official Mythic Legions bio states that he was an ancient vampire who spent years conniving to gain a position of power for himself. While I don’t usually go for any vampire figures, I had to make an exception for this guy. This is not surprising. This figure is entirely a tribute to Hordak, the Ruthless Leader of The Evil Horde!
The figure, like Dorina Onoris, was included in the Mythic Legions: All-Stars wave 3 and was meant to debut at Power-Con in Anaheim in 2020. The in-person convention was unfortunately canceled. Consequently, the Four Horsemen offered a limited allotment of exclusive Onoris and Draguul figures each day of the virtual con through their online store.
Draguul is the Four Horsemen’s “unofficial” nod to Hordak and is a part of their ongoing line of Masters of the Universe tribute figures. The name appears to be a combination of “dragon” and “ghoul,” which is a creative way to describe the appearance of the original MOTU character. This makes sense as the dark warlord Hordak never really had an alternate name besides when he was in disguise, outside of Masters of the Universe Classics, where his bio said his real name was Hec-Tor Kur.
He comes with an additional knight helmet head with a dragon on top, but I doubt many people use that versus the vampire head. The body and accessories are painted well, including a cape, a crossbow, a shield, and a skull-topped axe that is supposed to be a tribute to Imp, the shapeshifting spy and pet of Hordak.
If you see the Imp tribute in today’s picture, you might notice I’ve also included another (not so) hidden Loo-Kee in today’s picture.
And for our next #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, we’re back in a fiery place. Today, we’re looking at the Mythic Legions Aethon!
This horse not only features a flaming color scheme but also has some metallic bits and the ability to be a mobile foot locker on hooves for Arethyr or anyone else who needs it.

Rocking out this #FourHorsemenFriday, we’re taking a look at the Mythic Legions Dorina Onoris!
According to her official Mythic Legions bio, Dorina was a folk hero from the northlands who led her people’s rebellion against the evils of Lord Draguul. Does this story scenario sound familiar? Well, it should as this is 100% Adora, also known as She-Ra, Princess of Power!
The figure was included in the Mythic Legions: All-Stars wave 3 and was meant to debut at Power-Con 2020. However, the pandemic at the time caused the in-person convention to be canceled, and the Four Horsemen simply put up a small allotment of exclusive figures each day through their website, as if the now online-only con was still happening in Anaheim.
Onoris is, of course, the Four Horsemen’s “unofficial” nod to She-Ra and is a part of their ongoing line of Masters of the Universe tribute figures. The name is somewhat based on She-Ra’s alter ego, Adora.
She comes with an additional helmeted elf head that you’re not likely to ever pull out of the parts box and also a few accessories. These include a red cape, a shield, and a sword to go along with an excellent paint job that really brings home the idea of the Princess of Power having further adventures in Mythoss!
Once again, if you’ve made it this far, I’ve included another (not so) hidden Loo-Kee in today’s picture.

And for our next #FourHorsemenFriday post from the archives, we’re taking a long break from Mythic Legions skeletons. Today, we’re looking at the Mythic Legions Arethyr!
I did skip the skeleton sale around this time last year. However, I was able to track down some other skeletons eventually. Enough about skeletons already, as we’re busting out the fiery manifestation of war itself, Arethyr!
When I initially made this post, I thought the current Colorado wildfires would be an appropriate connection. This God comes armed with the mystical flaming Aetherblade. He is ready to ride his hellish steed, Aethon.
