On this #StarWarsSaturday, we’ve also got this Bandai BB-8 model kit!
After careful assembly, this little ball droid matches up well with 1/12 scale action figures. It also has several display options, including this little arm attachment, and features a realistic-looking “floating head.”

On this #StarWarsSaturday, we’re in Echo Base during The Empire Strikes Back. From Star Wars: The Legacy Collection, it’s R3-A2!
This Build-A-Droid is a nice upgrade compared to Hasbro’s 2003 Toys’R’Us exclusive version, with improved paint apps and sculpt. The unique thing about R3 is a clear dome that reveals cables and other mechanical parts sculpted inside. The toy dome does not click when turned or control the middle leg.
In the film, the droid can be seen just a few frames after R5-M2, when Han passes by an X-Wing. There is technically another orange and white clear-domed astromech that is seen earlier in a zoomed out shot when Han is riding his tauntaun into Echo Base, but that one has a slightly different deco, and has not yet been made in action figure form (though it would be an easy custom using this R3-A2 as your base figure).
While this #StarWarsSaturday and other weekend plans may not go exactly as scheduled due to snow, this Bandai C-3PO model kit is a pretty slick version of the character and is surrounded by some cool stuff to come.
For this #StarWarsSaturday, we’re moving through Echo Base during The Empire Strikes Back. From Star Wars: The Legacy Collection, it’s R5-M2!
This is a perfect little astromech that Hasbro included in the Hoth Recon Patrol 5-Pack. This black-domed droid changes direction and passes directly in front of Han after he parks his tauntaun. As far as the figure goes, it features a clicking dome with a removable antenna and three dirtied rolling legs including a removable middle leg.
I like this Artoo because the dome features a vac metal finish, a telescoping sensor scope, and when light passes through the top, his eye lights up. Also, the sneakers are comfortable. 😁
This #StarWarsSaturday also finds this Hasbro R2-D2 from 2004 paired with these Adidas Nite Jogger sneakers from 2019.
Starting off the #StarWarsSaturday posts from the archives, we’ve got this Legacy Collection R7-Z0 figure.
I finally picked up the last piece (right leg) of this “Build-A-Droid” from 2008 to complete the astromech. While the droid has a unique look, it’s not one you’d recognize from any scenes in a Star Wars film as it can only be found in the book The New Essential Guides To Droids. 😛

On this #StarWarsSaturday, we’re staying in Echo Base during The Empire Strikes Back. From Star Wars The Vintage Collection, it’s Princess Leia Organa (Hoth Outfit)!
When Hasbro rebooted TVC in 2010, this Leia figure was the second in the line. Using all new parts, 12 points of articulation, light dirt on her uniform, and a decent likeness of Carrie Fisher, this was by far the best representation on the character in the 3.75” scale at the time of release.
“Oh, what about you need?” – Han
“(mystified) I need? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” – Leia
