Updating you, this #FourHorsemenFriday. We’re taking a look at the Mythic Legions Unkann!

According to Mythic Legions lore, the Legion of Arethyr is an army consisting of the most brutal and savage warriors in Mythoss. Since every army needs a weapon master, that role has fallen to Unkann, the Orc.

In reality, Unkann was a part of a small wave called “Mythic Legions 1.5,” which was simply the first wave following the initial Kickstarter figures and used existing parts repainted from that first group of characters. The nice thing about this figure’s release was that I was able to pick him up the year before the wave shipped, since he made his debut at Power-Con 2016.

Why Power-Con? Until a few years ago, this convention was widely regarded as the premier convention for He-Man and She-Ra, and all things Masters of the Universe. Unkann was The Four Horsemen’s first “unofficial” tribute figure to Masters of the Universe, as this Orc is painted up very similar to the “Master of Weapons” himself, Man-At-Arms! His moniker combines the “U” naming pattern already established in the toy line and rhymes with Man-At-Arms’ official first name, Duncan.

While the pictured shield is a custom I thought suited the figure, Unkann comes armed with a bone knife, a dagger, and a mace, and looks great on the shelf with the orange and green combination. Thankfully, the figure was a success, and around a dozen more MOTU tribute figures have joined the line since!
