Continuing with my top 10 action figure releases of 2025. At number 8, I picked the Boss Fight Studio EPIC H.A.C.K.S. Red Sonja!
This year, I’m featuring a different toy company each day in my top 10 list. I didn’t get many figures from Boss Fight Studio this year, but I am pleased to have added this one to my collection. The figure was announced to commemorate the character’s 50th anniversary since her debut in Marvel Comics’ Conan the Barbarian, and the pre-order showed up on my doorstep a short 18 months later. 😄
Boss Fight seems pretty confident in the license, since they still have a handful of Red Sonja figures up for pre-order. I do think this 1/12 scale Red Sonja is better than the LooseCollector version from a few years ago. The figure is a bit small next to 7-inch scale figures, but the detail is great. She uses the modular Epic H.A.C.K.S. system and has over 30 points of articulation.
There are plenty of accessories for customizing, including three heads, three pairs of hands, two sets of removable armor, an axe, a belt, a knife, a sheath, a sword, and a stand for dynamic poses. Boss Fight also included one of three randomly chosen art pieces based on comic covers from Dynamite Entertainment, which has published Red Sonja comics for the last 20 years.
Also, here’s an update on the new Red Sonja film that was stuck in development for 15 years. It finally hit theaters in August, but only for one day. Now, this solid B-movie at best is available on VOD, DVD, and Blu-ray.
