Continuing the countdown of my top 10 action figure releases of 2025, for number 7, I chose the Lone Coconut Plunderlings Plunderbeak Captain Longbill!
This year, I’m highlighting a different toy company each day in my top 10 list. Honestly, I didn’t expect to add anything from PlunderPlanet to my collection this year, much less to my top ten. Earlier this year, the Plunderlings team said the next wave would launch on Kickstarter “soon,” but they never provided a date. Then, just a couple of weeks before Christmas, they surprised everyone by making the Plunderbeaks available directly from Lone Coconut.
While Raider Flynch and Berserker Quervo were also favorites in my house, the “Captain” stood out with its big, colorful pelican beak and rapier sword. This 5-inch figure uses the well-painted Plunderlong body, complete with an ab crunch and over 25 points of articulation, and takes things up a notch. Along with the new bird head, ruffled shirt, and boots, the Plunderbeaks have a modular wing system that lets you adjust the length. It also comes with two extra sets of hands and a magnetic bicorn hat. The bird is the word!
