NECA Street Scene Diorama

Recommended music: Beastie Boys – No Sleep Till Brooklyn

It’s #TurtleTuesday, and today we’re looking at something that fits perfectly with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles display. Let’s check out the NECA Originals Street Scene Diorama!

NECA’s Street Dioramas are highly detailed, modular display pieces scaled for 6” to 7” action figures. Originally created by NECA to showcase the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line at their San Diego Comic-Con booth, these dioramas became so popular that NECA released them to the general public.

The standard diorama is over 18 inches tall and more than 2 feet wide. It has three levels between the street and rooftops, so you can fit dozens of figures in the space if so desired. While built with TMNT in mind, the first version shown here is generic enough to work with many other toylines that can benefit from a generic cityscape backdrop.

You can start customizing the display right away by choosing where to put the fake metal roll-up door and the AC unit. You can also flip the thick cardboard backdrop to show either day or night. Many customizers like how uniform the diorama is and have made their own doors, windows, streetlights, and other accessories to make the display feel even livelier.

After the original street diorama, NECA released two more versions with new colors and designs to match the 1987 TMNT cartoon and the 1990 live-action film. NECA also made multiple sewer lair pieces that fit right under the street diorama, so you can expand your TMNT display even further.
