Today marks 500 days of the dalestoys.com daily blog, so I have something a little different planned for the week. Tonight is the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby, so we’re checking out a Hobby Jumbo Box of Topps 2026 Series 1 Baseball cards!
That’s right, no Masters of the Universe or action figures today. Over 99% of my action figure collection has been packed away for months, waiting for a new display spot [see last week’s news]. So, let’s talk about a different kind of trading card. When the toys are put away, the cards come out to play. 😄👍
I had to go back to the beginning of 2024, but I actually did have a Dale’s Toys logo with a baseball in it, but phased it out as I chose to feature other (non-sports) collectibles on the blog.
Released in February, the 2026 version of Topps Series 1 Baseball officially kicked off the MLB collecting calendar while celebrating a historic milestone: 75 Years of Topps Baseball. The cornerstone of the release is a 350-card base set that features veterans, future stars, league leaders, and a highly anticipated rookie class, including standouts like Jac Caglianone and Roman Anthony. The flagship design honors the diamond anniversary with a stitched jersey pattern along the borders that adopts each team’s colors.
Today, I’m sharing a video I made with my daughters in May when we finally opened a box of cards together. Even though my kids aren’t big baseball fans, we still had a great time opening them as a family!
I’ll be back tomorrow with more Topps baseball talk!
