Recommended music: KRS-One – Return of the Boom Bap

I still think Keno is a real hustler in Secret of the Ooze, but I may have found a song that suits him even better.
Boom bap is a hip-hop subgenre that was huge on the East Coast in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It gets its name from the strong kick drum and sharp snare in its beats, and a looping tempo with chopped vinyl samples and gritty basslines.
This style matches Keno sneaking into the Foot Clan since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II came out in 1991, right when boom bap was shaping New York street culture. As a teenage pizza delivery guy on a Vespa, Keno really shows off that early-nineties city vibe. The slow, steady beat fits the feel of moving quietly. The heavy kicks sound like careful steps in the junkyard, and the sharp snares highlight his quick martial arts moves while scoping out enemy territory.
