Recommended music: Danheim – Berserkir
It’s #TolkienThursday, and since my action figures are still packed up, awaiting a new display, posts from the archive will continue to come into play.
I thought the music I chose for my original blog post from Howard Shore’s score for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring worked well for the toy of the day. Today, I wanted to create a similar mood, but with a track that isn’t from the movie.
Danheim’s Berserkir is a great match for an Uruk-Hai figure. Instead of the dramatic horns from the movies, this Nordic folk track is driven by pounding drums, deep chanting, and rough folk instruments that capture fearlessness and rage. The heavy sound matches the scenes where the armor-covered action figure sets the mood before and during battle.
