Recommended music: 2 Unlimited – Get Ready For This
It’s #TurtleTuesday, and since my action figures are still packed, waiting for a new display, archive posts will come into play. After 1100+ posts on the blog, we’ll continue to have to do some reruns for now.
Though I initially found a fun song that mentioned both “Keno” and “pizza,” I now think I’ve found an even better track for Keno.
2 Unlimited’s “Get Ready for This” came out in 1991, just a few months after ‘Secret of the Ooze’ was released. The song fits perfectly with the pop culture vibe when Keno first appeared in the sequel. Its strong synths and eurodance style really capture the urban energy that filled radios and arcades during the movie’s run.
With the rapid beat, the song’s driving bassline mimics the high-speed urgency of a New York City delivery run, making it feel like Keno is actively weaving through traffic on his scooter to beat a pizza clock.
The aggressive, building intro also matches Keno’s cocky attitude. The track’s pre-fight hype atmosphere serves as a natural soundtrack for the moment he steps off his scooter to take on street thugs.
