Recommended music: The Beach Boys – Kokomo
It’s #WhateverWednesday, and since my action figures are still packed, waiting for a new display, archive posts will come into play. After 1100+ posts on the blog, we’ll keep doing some reruns for now.
The first time I wrote about Pepe the Prawn on the blog, I picked a song that seemed to work, but now I’ve found one that suits him even better.
“Kokomo” by The Beach Boys is the perfect anthem for Vacation Pepe. It matches his big personality and love for the beach. The figure comes with all the resort gear: a floral Hawaiian shirt, flippers, a snorkel, and a tropical drink. “Kokomo” is the classic cheesy, sun-soaked vacation song.
But it’s not just about the look. The song also fits Pepe’s smooth-talking side. The lyrics about tropical getaways and romantic sunset walks match his constant, confident flirting. The steel-drum pop sound fits the time when he became popular on Muppets Tonight.
