Recommended music: Buster Poindexter – Hot Hot Hot
It’s #WhateverWednesday, and since my action figures are still packed waiting for a new display, archive posts will come into play. After 1100+ posts on the blog, we’ll keep revisiting some old toys for now.
Last week, I wrote about Pepe the King Prawn on the blog and picked “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys as the perfect anthem for Palisades Muppets Vacation Pepe. That song still works, but now that I’ve added the Plunderlings Fwush figure, a different tune pops into my head.
“Hot Hot Hot” feels like the perfect soundtrack for these two. It brings together the wild fun of island mischief with the cool vibe of a resort getaway.
Fwush is a lively tropical goblin full of Caribbean energy. The song’s fast beat, bold brass, and percussion fit perfectly with the wild energy of a little pirate making trouble on the beach or searching for hidden treasure.
The song is also the perfect anthem for Vacation Pepe the King Prawn. Pepe loves tropical shirts, lounge-lizard confidence, and living the grand resort fantasy. The theatrical, larger-than-life tone of Buster Poindexter’s 1987 classic hit mirrors Pepe’s personality and frames him as the star of the poolside lounge. With its Bahamian vibe, the song’s real rhythm sets the perfect scene, mixing the Plunderling’s wild island side with Pepe’s smooth vacation style for one big, colorful beach party.
