Leonardo in Punk Disguise (Reblog)

Recommended music: Mötley Crüe – Wild Side

It’s another #TurtleTuesday, and since my action figures are still packed and waiting for a new display, I’ll dig up some more old toys from the archives today.

When I first posted about this punk version of Leo from the NECA Toys TMNT cartoon, I thought it would be clever to include the Corey Hart hit based on Leo’s fashionable evening look. However, I found another tune that seems to fit just as well.

“Wild Side” by Mötley Crüe is the ideal soundtrack for the NECA Punk Disguise Leonardo figure. Its energetic 1980s heavy metal sound matches the wild, rebellious street style the turtles were going for.

The song’s fast beat and lyrics fit the image of a disciplined ninja turtle trying to blend into a tough, neon-lit city in a leather jacket and sunglasses. The track also captures the over-the-top glam-metal style of the same era, which may have inspired the cartoon’s punk makeover.
