Recommended music: Gary Numan – M.E.
It’s #TurtleTuesday, and since my action figures are still packed, waiting for a new display, archive posts will come into play. After 1100+ posts on the blog, we’ll have to do some summer reruns for now.
Although many TMNT songs have appeared over the last forty years from video games, animated series, films, and fan remixes, I looked back to 1979 to find this piece that suits Krang nicely.
Gary Numan’s song, “Mechanical Engineering,” features a cold, morose synth line depicting a lone machine surviving in a deserted world. In this way, the track reflects Krang’s sterile, high-tech solitude as he resides in his metallic fortress, the Technodrome.
Also, if the opening bit sounds familiar, you likely recognize it being sampled in “Where’s Your Head At” by Basement Jaxx.🤘
