Recommended music: Niccolò Paganini – Caprice No. 24
It’s #TolkienThursday, and since my action figures are still packed away, awaiting a new display, posts from the archive will keep coming into play.
When first posting about this figure, I chose a modern meme-style song to wrap up the Fellowship of the Ring action figures, but I think I’ve found another option that fits just as well.
Niccolò Paganini’s Caprice No. 24 is a great musical match for the Toy Biz Mirkwood Legolas. The piece captures the speed, skill, and calm confidence of an Elven prince. It showcases violin skills and the constant changes can make you think of Legolas quickly switching from his bow to fighting with his daggers.
Paganini’s solo violin replaces the big, dramatic sound of Howard Shore’s film score with a sharp, focused melody, like a certain elven archer moving quietly through Mirkwood.
