Recommended music: Cradle of Filth – Funeral in Carpathia
It’s #FourHorsemenFriday, and since my action figures are still packed up, awaiting a new display, toys from the past will keep returning in a new way.
My original music pick for this action figure was Rush’s “The Necromancer.” The song sets the scene with a lone sorcerer moving through a dark forest, but Cradle of Filth’s “Funeral in Carpathia” feels like an even better fit. Though the track is much more obscure, it’s also much freakier, like this character.
Necronominus, one of the Dark Four in Mythic Legions, is a winged, crowned deity who leads an army. The song’s guitar harmonies, cathedral-like synths, and gothic sound mirror the detail on this figure created by Four Horsemen Studios. The song’s eight-minute length makes it a soundtrack as epic as a scene filled with skeletal legions, as both the music and the figure share the same dark, high-fantasy style of the 1990s.
